The Immigration Clinic was a valuable hands-on opportunity to work on our own cases. I drafted the declaration and worked on the application forms for an affirmative asylum case. I also learned about other types of immigration services by observing my classmates as they worked on their own cases, such as family petitions and naturalization applications.

What we’re doing at the Legal Clinics is not just teaching the students the mechanics of how to be a lawyer – how to take a deposition, how to draft a brief – but also why we do this and why this work is so important and why the individuals in our community need that assistance.
